Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your reply, I have included the photos of my grandfather, he did return from the war and was born in Clitheroe in 1890 but lived in Padiham until his death on 20/03/1929 aged 39.

The postcard was sent to his wife Hannah during the First World War or given to her on his return, I have no medals or regimental number and I am really struggling to track him down. There are no family members left to help.

On his marriage in 1916 to Hannah it says he was in the Machine Gun Co Driver, he did enlist in Sept 1914 in the East Lancs Regiment but was discharged 2 weeks later as ‘not an efficient soldier’ although conduct says good.

I will keep tracking and hope to find something, he seems a character which I like, I have sent the photo of him on his doorstep, I particularly like that cocky attitude he displays lol, the one in the uniform I have no clue what it is.
