Awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal in the London Gazette of 21 October
1918.
"For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. A warrant officer
of the best type, invariably setting a high standard of discipline to
the men of his company. He has on many occasions during the last six months
volunteered for the performance of dangerous duties".
Three of my mother’s uncles fought in WWI. All three are listed
on your site.
I already had all the information about them, but it’s nice to
see it compiled here.
Am always looking for more about them.
