Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant William Stezaker MSM

Stezaker - Alfred (DCM), Richard & William (MSM).

"William had been in the territorial army for 14 years prior to the Great War. At age 17 Alfred joined (like his oldest brother). One interesting bit too about William, I was also told when a transport ship was sunk beneath him in January 1917, on the way to Alexandria, he was rescued. Coincidentally, that same ship was HMS Ivernia, a passenger ship deployed for wartime use, that had carried his sister, Emily, to the United States in 1910."

William (seated) and Alfred (standing) Both fought together at Gallipoli.

By the way. This was William (Bill) in the 1950’s. The older gentleman.
